This summer has gone in a blink of my eye but it's been a great one. there is so much that has gone last time I posted my blog I talked about the canoe. It was a great time, I never canoed be for but it was a lot of fun! I think the kids had a lot of fun they have a lot of funny stories from this trip. here is a video of all of are fun: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_7Itt4qthY

The kids are really excited for this night one little girl in my group we where talking about what's going on this Sunday she said with no pause "we get are backpacks" all I could do is smile. (will try to have pic up from this night)

Current Needs:
A microwave, washer, and dryer for families in our community
Diapers, sizes 5, 4, and 3. Diapers are one of the most sought-after items in our Resource Center and seem to fly off the shelves as fast as they're donated.
Volunteers for Adult English classes and LIT tutors beginning in September. If you're interested in being and English conversation partner, please e-mail Jason at jasons@missionadelante.org. If you're interested in tutoring kids weekday afternoons, please e-mail Megan at meganm@missionadelante.org.
Prayer Needs:
Pedro and Imelda, a neighborhood couple, have recently begun attending our Bible study. Please pray for God to give them a hunger to know Him and draw them to Himself.
Please continue to pray for God to bring additional volunteers with a heart to serve kids in Kids Adelante and Leaders In Training.
Pray for ESL students and volunteers to maintain their momentum during the upcoming five-week break.
Praise God with us! Eduardo, one of the community kids most at-risk of gang involvement, has recently shown signs of change in his attitude and behavior. His family has also had more consistant attendance at worship and Bible studies lately.
Eduardo had touched my heart with his family. Just to see this kid slip away from a lot of things but just to see that prays do work. He is starting to slowly come back to being his self when I look across the room I catch his smile and it makes my heart melt. I got to go with his mom to go see his sister in dance show. It was a lot of fun hanging out with them and as we where leaving he said to me " Molly I am going to give you this shirt that I have for you can remember this day" I was so blow away this! I just keep praying for him and his heart I know God is doing something really cool in it and that he wont slip back to where he use to be. Please join me on this and for every kids that's involved with Kids Adelante.
This day was very special to me because last summer I got to know a family with 5 kids from the neighborhood and really grow close to them and then one day they just up and moved I had no clue what happen…
On this day they just showed up and joined in all the fun.
It was really happy to see them!
( I only could just get a pic of four of them)

I wanted to share some exciting new that went on in our Mission Adelante Community we had Baptism it was a really cool site to see.

Six people got baptized:
Alberto Amparan and Graciela Jimenez
Alden
Marta and Luz and Nayeli
Here is where the cool story comes in Nayeli one of the kids in a Kid Adelante and LIT. Just seeing how much she has changed over time and how she has grown so close to God at them some time. The three different generation of this family getting baptized together Grandma and Mother and Daughter. To read more about Nayeli check out:
As I was watching the night go by it made my heart feel with Joy seeing what was going on in the community and how that these people that took a new step in there lives, are now the ones that are going to be leading other by just there actions. Alden and Nayeli are the youngest to be baptized in there age I think these kids are setting a really sweet example for others there age.
Just keep everyone that took this new path in there life in your thoughts and prays. I know God was looking down and Smiling on that night and He is proud of everyone and is holding them so close right now
From after my last blog.... I am glad to say everything has been quite and peaceful around here.
February went by so fast and it's all ready March Wow.... where did all the time go? I feel like everything is flying bye there is a lot going on with me. As a lot of you know I am part time with Mission Adelante and I love working there! My job title is Ministry Aide, I go to work had help the staff or what might need to be done around the building and then I get to hang out with our LIT kids. LIT is our (leaders In Training). It's really kool to see how these kids our growing so much throw what they learn on Kid Adelante on Thursday nights and just how much we show them there is someone that really love them. Mission Adelante is doing a graet thing down here there Mission:
Serving Hispanic immigrants to Christ and mobilizing them to serve.
Mission Adelante is an urban mission to Hispanic Immigrants that seeks to win them to Christ through serving them at the point of their felt needs, discipling them relationally, mobilizing them to serve, and equipping them to lead, toward the end of growing community - impacting, leader-reproducing bilingual churches.
Spring Break is for just time to rest from school and just take it easy but not for these for lady's on there spring break they came down to Mission Adelante. It was some fun days for the kids Monday and Tuesday kids showed up to hang out. It was really Kool to see how many kids did show up, They played games and did a bible story's. On Tue for the St. Patrick's Day we took some kids to the parade. when they could have been hanging out with there friends or family, It was really kool to see them come down and spend there time hanging out with the kids and eally showing the love of God to them.
LIT "Leaders In Training "
Will LIT started last year and it's kool to see. We chose 13kids out of our Thursday nights club
that showed a little bit of leader ship and we invited to this new program. Well, LIT has had it's ups and downs right now... We only have 10kids that are still hanging on with us, but the ones that our still her are working really heard and keeping up with everything.
KID'S ADELANTE (Thursday night's)
It's fun to go every Thursday night and really love on these kids and tell them about God love for them. I feel we are the ones who are teaching the kids so much about God and how they don't have to go find other thing to make them happy or to fund love in other things. God loves them no matter what they have done in there life's. I was talking to one girl last week and she was tell me about somethings in her life that was going on to hear her store just broke my heart.
I was able to share that even though we don't under stand life and why bad thing happens but God is all ways there for her. This is why we are here to reach these kids and show them that there is so much love for them when they face so much pain at this young age it's so hard for them to under stand it all but when they know that it's going to be ok it make something a little easy and that someone is there for them. I told her that God is there for her and I was right there for her too I think she under stood it that we are here for them and we care about them.
Manos de Ayuda (Helping Hands) Resource Center The Resource Center provides resources for immigrant families through securing donations of new and lightly used items through a network of churches.
Every Saturday at 9:30 there is a little garage that we open and family's they come in and get stuff that might help them. Just watching some of these families come in shows me that the have some much strength to ask for help by just coming. Just with the hard times everyone is facing right now I have seem a lot of family's come in and ask for dippers and food or take a bag full of clothes or stuff for there house or there kids or just things take for granted.
(this is a pic of what it looked like when we first started)
when everyone that comes in after they look around we ask if there is any special need that they did not, one asked for a bed and other asked for a stove we try or best if we get stuff donation and a family needs it we let them know that we have what they are looking for. I love helping them and letting them know it's ok to ask for help and that we are here to help them. the one kool thing that we do for everyone that comes in we pray for them before they leave last Saturday I got to pray for a lady it was really sweet to be able to bless her by praying over her life.

so that's what I have been up to with Mission Adelante but I feel like God is teaching me alot right now in my life and my walk with him, let me give you a look into my world.
Right now I feel like I have a lot of balls up in the air that I am trying to juggle and in my life right now, I some times wounder if any our going to come down. I am learning a lot working for Mission Adelante and living down here has been a really eye opener for me. I never thought this would be such a growing time around rising and trusting God in this new walk has been a really sweet experiment. I have been living with a family that has three and it had been a great time share life with them. I am sad and excited to say that God had called them to Costa Rica it's going to be a great time to see there family grow in God and for the to share God's love over there is even cooler. I feel like this time in place I have been really close to God and it's kool to see him show him self to me in so many was that just blow me away.
I am Reading:
this book is really kool I read some of it this summer but pick it up and started reading it a lot and I have been getting a lot out of it and trying to live it out. This something really kool keeping God in your mind when you go throw your day and just talk to Him like you would talk to a friend or just ask him for help when you are going throw a hard time with you job or school.
I have been trying this and I feel like God and I have grown so much closer I share my life by all ways having him on my mind. I will be honest that I some time do forget that God is there but I when I do I tell him Sorry God I forgot just a little please help me stay close to you and I can feel him with me."If there is any contribution that I have to make to the world that will live, surely it must be my experience of God on Signal Hill "Frank Laubach. this book is like a dairy of both man and there walk trying to keep the presence of God close. It's kool to read when they have good days and when they have bad days. I just got to Brother Lawrence part but I can't wait to see how his walk is going to be like and see how much I can keep learning and growing so close to God by practicing his presence.
This CD has been in my player in my car and on my pic and this CD has been very helpful right now in my life I just feel like the song really speak how I feel some times. In my last blog I talked about a song Never Let Go and it's on this CD. I could talk about all the songs but I am going to try to pick out some of my favorite:
Never ending: This song is so true to hear
Never Let Go: This has helped when time get hard and I sometimes don't under stand
Rain down: I just want him to rain down on my life
We won't be quite: I wanted to live this song out in my life
Surely we can change: This is my pray for the world. I feel this song really needs to touch every ones heart. It just hits home for me right now on how much we need to do this. For everyone will know that we still care even when the world might have stop caring a long time ago.
The whole CD is really good ... I think every one needs to check it out!
Pray:
Please pray for the kids who participate in our LIT program to finish strong both in LIT and in school. The last few weeks have been challenging with attitudes, and problems for a few of the kids at school and at home.
Please continue to pray for the families in our community who are unemployed. Pray that God would provide for their needs.
Please pray for the LIT kids who received Christ last week to continue their growth in Him.
Please Pray for the Sears family that they will have Safe travel
please pray that God will keep showing me His heart for everyone I know and meet

New Birth in the Mission Adelante Community
Five LIT Kids Born Again!
Long-term investing in the lives of our "Leaders-In-Training" kids has born spiritual fruit! Iris, Nayeli, Helen, Edgar, and Felipe all received Christ on Wednesday during our mentoring time. Because of more than a year (in some cases more than two years) of learning the Bible through the Kids Adelante's Outreach Bible Study, the message of the gospel was not hard for them to grasp or receive.
I have seen significant changes in the attitude and character of these kids over the last several months. Being with them three afternoons and one evening each week since September has given us the opportunity to see them at their best and worst, and has allowed us to speak truth into their lives in every situation. They have become more and more open and have learned to trust that we are truly for them. Now, as 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, they are new creations in Christ. It will be exciting to see how the Holy Spirit will continue His work in them!
-Just wanted to know the great news about some of the kids I work with!
Needs:
We have found that baby items such as diapers and wipes go faster than we can stock them. We always need these items!
Food staples for what we call "Canasta Basica" or basic basket also go fast. One "Canasta Basica" contains: 2 bags of rice, 3 bags of beans, 1 box of Maizena, one bag of sugar, one bottle of cooking oil, 2 bags of pasta, 1 bag of flour. We love it when friends can bring a complete "Canasta Basica" already assembled! This is what we try to hand to every family that comes to the Resource Center.
If any one would life to donations any new and lightly used items to the Resource Center that might be just stilling around Please just let us know
